If you have been following me for any amount of time whether it be on Instagram or here on the blog you will noticed my passion for planning, with that also comes goal setting. But when the new year began, I wondered if it was worth it to set any resolutions for 2019. I’m going to look at this year a little differently. Instead of wanting to changed things I want to truly appreciate me, as I am, yet work on improving a few things.
I have also decided to pick a word for the year: confident. This word is there as a reminder of what I need to focus on.
Personal Goals
- Be More Active -
I used to work out consistently but since having kids I slowly stopped. I do spend the majority of my day running around with them and I feel like that is a workout in it self, but I want to get back into healthy habits.
I’m not saying I will start going to the gym twice a week but I do want to be more active. Whether that is going for walks, doing yoga or exercising at home.
- Less Screen Time -
Another goal for the year is to limit my screen time. With having a blog and an Etsy shop all my work is in front of a screen. I also find myself throughout the day mindlessly scrolling through social media. I just want to be more mindful of how I spend my time and be present with my kids, family, and friends.
- Practice Self-Care -
I want to have me time, even if it’s just five minutes. Self-care is a lot more than baths and pamper sessions. Though I love doing those things I want to look at self care as taking care of my body, mind, and soul.
- Be Confident -
Can’t forget about my word for 2019: confident. I want to be more confident in who I am. I want to be confident in my abilities and business. I hope this leads to achieving big dreams.
Etsy / Blog Goals
- Keep Growing Nicole Kelly Creations -
Nicole Kelly Creations has been going strong for a few years now and I feel like it has gone little stagnant. I want to continue growing my shop and dig deep into what's best for my business.
- Develop My Invitation Collections -
This is a big goal for this year, and I’m quite scared of writing here because somehow it sounds more real and I’m making myself accountable. I am in the process of designing and then adding digital and paper invites to my shop. I hope to have 38 collections added through out this year.
- Write (at least) one blog post per week -
I’ve noticed that when I am consistent and stay connected my blog analytics are better. I also want to have a blog post scheduled ahead of time so I don’t have to stress the night before.
- Find A Balance Between My Main Topics -
Last year was all about rebranding and really finding where my voice is needed most online. While Nicole Kelly is still a lifestyle blog, I am focusing on these four topics the most: Family, Home, Fashion & Beauty, and Crafting. I want to make sure that I maintain a balance when it comes to posting equally about all topics, so it’s always clear what my main focuses are.
- Grow My Social Media Channels -
Social media is one of the greatest ways that my blog and small business grows. I really want to focus on Instagram and pinterest this year. They are both great social media tools for bloggers. I want to tap in and see how I can use these for my growth and networking.
