DIY - Jute Wrapped Monogram

One of my priorities on putting together the family room is to personalize the space with family photos and accessories. What’s more personal than a monogram? I love monograms because they are a great decor item, they are personal, and give an opportunity to introduce color and texture.

For this project you will need:

12" Paper Mache Letter

Jute Twine

Ribbon

Scissors

Glue Gun

Project Instructions:

  • Start by securing the jute on the backside of the letter with a hot glue gun.

  • As you are wrapping use the hot glue gun to glue the twine to the letter to hold in place, I did this on the back side.

  • Use the jute twine and wrap the paper mache letter until the entire letter is covered. (Every letter will come out different, they all won’t wrap exactly like mine My advice: just keep wrapping!)

  • Use scissors to cut the ribbon, then fold, making a loop, and glue the ends together.

  • Tie ribbon into bow, and glue to the top of ribbon.
