Making Christ the Center of Your Home & A Home Update

I think I have said this before, but if I haven't, I have realized while being out of a house the past year that our homes are temporary, but they are an opportunity to reflect on many things and one of them is God. God has given each of us a home, whether its be an apartment, a house, or a dorm room. So I am coming to you today with a few practical ways you can make christ the center of your home. Also, Below I have a small update of what is going on with our new house.

Fill Your Home With His Word
There is extreme power in the word of God and I want to always learn more. God gave us His Word and His Spirit within us to guide us, so we should actively be seeking Him. Some examples of this would be through your quiet time, through reading and praying, and through having scriptures posted around your home.

Fill Your Home With His Love
This can be one of the hardest things to do, to love the way Christ loves so unconditionally. I think 1 Corinthians 13 is a great passage to think about when seeing if you are loving others. Are you patient? Are you Kind?

Fill Your Home With His Grace
I want my home to be filled with grace and forgiveness. None of us are perfect. Therefore, I desire for my house to be a place of peace and understanding, a place of full honesty without fear of judgement. I want my home to be a place where anyone feels comfortable coming to and gathering.

Home Update

As you all know by now we where supposed to be in your new house months ago and since are last closing date has come and gone we are still waiting. But I will tell you this time it seems as though pretty much everything is done at the house. We SHOULD be closing soon. We are hoping to have a walkthrough with our builders to make sure everything is perfect this week. I don't have pictures of the progress that has been done but here is a list.

* The Fence around the house was starting to be put up.
* The front yard is starting to be landscaped.
* The front door has been pained. It is green. (I can't wait to hang a wreath up on it!)
* All of the appliances are in the house now and the blue stuff is off of the counters, so you can really see the granite now.
* And all the tile work is done and the wood was being installed as we walked through the house. So I am thinking by now it should be done.

With all this I have learned I want to make Christ the center of our lives and our home, whether this is an apartment or house. So as we are still in limbo It is my constant prayer that we are keeping Him first in our marriage, our lives and our home.

What do you do to keep christ the center of your home??
