Wife after God is designed to walk you through a journey with god, that is tailored through the role of being a wife. I am going to go day by day and reflect on my relationship with god and my husband. I will not be summarizing days or writing the versus that correlate. But I will be journaling and using the refection questions to help me go through this next month.
What do you think of when you hear the word pride?
I think that part of the problem is defining it.Obviously pride in the "I'm right, you're wrong" sense is not the way we should be looking at it, and is wrong. But when I use the same word pride, to express how we feel when we succeed at something or we have worked hard for, it becomes hard to tell when pride is bad.
I will say I think everyone has pride for themselves, I pride myself on trying to do things right. It is important to me to be the best I can be. I guess what comes with that is being able to accept when I am wrong about something.
I don't know about you but for me it is a relief to remind yourself that the way I handle life is not perfect and I can learn how to be better, but as always God has a purpose for us and he wants us to learn these lessons throughout our journey.
In the end I think that knowing the difference between being proud of something or someone and being prideful of ourselves as a whole is what we need to strive for.
Have you experienced pride in our heart and then a fall in your relationship with your husband?
I am thankful that I have been able to see my weakness with experiencing pride in the wrong way and it causing problems. I found that there are times I need to swallow my pride and look for things that I have done, or could have handled better and learn from that.
What is one thing you have been very prideful about recently and what do you feel God is calling you to do about it?
I can't think of anything off the top of my head that I have been prideful about recently, which probably means there are like 100 examples. But, I think God is call us to know when to learn from our mistakes and when to swallow your pride and move forward.
Day 14: Forgiveness
Why is it important to forgive others?
I think it is important to forgive others so they can learn, and grow as a person. I will say I don't think
forgiving someone means you agree or disagree with the situation as hand. it means that you have faith enough in God to obey his command of forgiveness.
What things make it very difficult to forgive your husband?
I think this is pride. We looked at pride in day 13, and I will say it once again it is knowing when to swallow your pride give forgiveness.
