I am so excited to start this mini serious today!! I have been contemplating doing a mini series or doing just one post on making your house a home. I decided I could never get all the information and pictures I wanted to share with all of you in just one post. There are entire blogs dedicated to just make our house a home, so here we are.
For 2014 one of my goals was to make my house more of a home. As we go through the rooms and areas I have decorated I would love to hear input or links to how you have made your house more of a home.
Here's what we've got coming up in the series (and links to previous posts):
* Today: Entry Way / Mudroom
* Wednesday, February 26th: Kitchen
* Wednesday, March 12th: Living Room
* Thursday, March 20th: Office
* Tuesday, April 8th: Loft
* Tuesday, April 22nd: Guest Bedroom
* Monday, May 5th: Babies Bedroom
* Tuesday, May 20th: Master Suite
Ok. So today we're talking about our entry way. When we first moved into this house I loved how open the floor plan was and how you went straight into the kitchen. I noticed after living in the house for a bit, everything ended up on the kitchen island.
This is one of my biggest pet peeves, I like to have it appear as though the house is clean right when you walk in. So this got me thinking, we had this hall closet on the left hand side, right when you walked in the door. I started doing my research and looking on pinterest and we decided to turn this boring closet into a mudroom.
This is now one of my favorite places in the house, and I think this is definitely something that is special to this house and makes it more a home. We are able to come home and put our mail and what not into the storage bins and keep the island in the kitchen clean as can be. :)
