Last weekend was one of the best weekends I have had in awhile. A few of my best friends and twin sister (Alicia, Alyssa, and Ashley) came to visit me! :) We had the best time, being silly and adding some great memories to your times spent together. We were able to fit going to the Getty Museum, walking third street promenade, seeing the beach, and plenty of shopping into the weekend.
Also, monday was April 15, that means tax season is over, and I get my husband back. He is a CPA and has been busy at work for the past two and half months. His firm always has a party on April 15th and we won a mini ipad at the party! :) It was pretty exciting!
With great memories comes some sad ones as well, in the past week we have had a tragic event happen in the boston area. I used to run in high school and have many friends that are still runners. Many of them have ran marathons and half-marathons. These events are full of excitement. Families and friends excitedly cheer the runners on and the anticipation to see your loved one cross the finish line is such a special moment. I am so incredibly sad by the bombings that happened this past week. But the part that affected me the hardest is the part about the young boy who was killed the bombing. He was just a child waiting at the finish line for his dad to finish the race. I will never understand why these things happen and can't imagine what the victims and their families are going through right now. I just know that they have all been in my thoughts and prayers, especially that little boys family who lost there son too soon to a horrific event.
It is crazy to have a week that has some amazing highs and some time of lows. This year for me has been a roller coaster and it is only April. For this weeks Sunday sayings its all about how life is a roller coaster and you have to decide how you want to live the ups and downs of life. I am going to choose to enjoy the ride as much as I can because once again I have learned that life can be short.
